Our Chapter History

The NCL, Inc. Monarch Chapter was granted a Provisional Charter on May 31, 2005 as a member of National Charity League, Inc. District 5.  In May 2015, NCL, Inc. Monarch celebrated 10 years of  community service, leadership development, cultural enrichment, philanthropy service, commitment, teamwork, mother-daughter relationships, and excellence. Our founding President, Stacy Lopes (served twice) and our past Presidents,  Kelly Kehlet, Joni Allen Ooms, Mindy Lange, Loretta Griffiths, Marie Huffman, Annamarie Burke, Ginny Villa, Lorie Baba, Tania Jernigan, and Valinda Accetta all provided the groundwork for our chapter with their vision, leadership, compassion, and inspiration.

As a mother-daughter organization, our path of transformation can be likened to the journey of a Monarch butterfly. Our mothers set the example by modeling responsibility and graciousness as our daughters soar towards their goals during their 6 years together in NCL, Inc. Monarch. We embrace this transformation and the work that strengthens the mother-daughter bond by our core values:

  • Honoring the mother-daughter bond by together learning, growing and modeling responsibility and graciousness
  • Empowering women with the skills and confidence to lead
  • Nurturing through mentorship
  • Inspiring a legacy of social awareness and compassion
  • Providing depth of support in local communities
Integrity and excellence in everything we do

“Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed people can change the world.  Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.” – Margaret Meade
